Sowal Diabi is a collective from France, Mali and the Middle East, inspired by the refugee experience.


El Khat are a multicultural quartet from Tel Aviv with a core Yemeni focus.

Bengali exile Mohammed After Hussain joins forces with DJ-producer Andrea Rusconi.

Ibrahim Babayev is a young tar player based in Istanbul.

Elektro Hafiz, from Istanbul and based in Cologne, plays electric baglama.

Satellites, based in Tel Aviv, are in thrall to the ’70’s Anatolian sound.


Huun Huur Tu are foremost Tuvan overtone ensemble, playing in Dublin this week and weekend.

The Mekons are veteran UK post-punk folk outfit.

Tone of Voice Orchestra are a Danish group straddling folk, jazz and more.

Charles Maimarosia is a multi-instrumentalist and singer from the Solomon Islands.

Mitsune is a 5-piece band from Berlin with a strong Japanese folk theme.


He Jinhua is a renowned singer from the Naxi people of South-West China.

Cynthia Abraham is a jazz singer of Caribbean heritage.

Cserepes tranposes archive Transylvanian recordings into an urban environment.

Marjan Vahdat is an Iranian singer in exile, here with Bugge Wesseltoft on production.
