Ifriqiyya Electrique produce a “post-industrial ritual” based on Tunisia’s Banga ceremonies.

Gili Yalo is an Israeli musician of Ethiopian background.

Pulo NDJ arise from Nickodemus’ and the HAPE Collective’s explorations in Chad.

“No Wahala” is the latest collection of Nigerian ’70s and ’80s from the Strut label.

The Madalitso Band are a traditional duo from Malawi.


ORieL is a reggae/dancehall/lovers’ rock singer, hailing from Domenica.

La Yegros is Mariana Yegros from Argentina with her nu-cumbia sound.

Saulo Duarte is a Brazilian singer/guitarist, born in the North, resident in Sao Paulo.

Ziminino are Brazilian artist Ricô Santana and producers Rafa Dias and Boima Tucker.

DJ Tudo stewards a collection of music from Mundo Melhor, a label who made field recordings from all over Brazil.


Umut Adan, living in Italy, and Altin Gün from the Netherlands, both play Turkish music rooted in the ’60s and ’70s.

Coskun Karademir plays the baglama in a progressive Anatolian folk style.

The Rodopi Ensemble play music from the Thracian lands where Greece meets Turkey meets Bulgaria.

Janusz Prusinowski is a preserver and advocate of Polish village music, learning from the old masters.


Pauanne are a trio with pagan sounds from the Finnish forests.

Paul Goodman and his group play Cretan music on baglama and saz.

Gulaza sings Yemenite songs which are usually the preserve of women.

The Gloaming continue their adventures beyond the Irish tradosphere.
