On this week's programme:


Imarhan are Algerian Touareg rockers on their second album.

The brothers Kuti are in full force, both with new albums, and the younger sibling, Seun will be in the Sugar Club for two nights at the end of April with Fela’s Egypt 80 band.

Baloji is a Belgian-Congolese rapper and lyricist.

Djénéba and Fousco are a Malian musical partnership of voice and guitar.


Ziggy Marley is son of Bob and Rita.

The late Hugh Masekela was the South African trumpeter, bandleader, and political activist.

A new, previously unheard collection of guitarists from Botswana go under the banner of “I’m not here to hunt rabbits”.

Toko Telo are a Madagascan outfit, restored again to a trio after the death of Régis Gizavo last year.


Stratman is Stratos Aloimonos, Greek producer and DJ.

Koum Tara are a multicultural group embellishing Algerian songs of Sid Ahmed Belksier with jazz and strings.

Kiran Ahluwalia is Indian-born, Canada-raised, New York resident singer and songwriter.

Entourage were a “happening” in the ’70s world of theatre and performance in the Eastern United States, interweaving folk, jazz and contemporary classical music.
