Kora players Dembo Konte & Kausu Kouyate are veterans of the early UK/European world music scene.

Ricardo Vignini is a Brazilian viola caipira master in a contemporary “sertejo” genre.

Doc Watson, one of the pioneers of US country music, was recorded in Greenwich Village with Gaither Carlton in 1962.

Smithsonian Folkways have gained access to the cowboy music of Colorado Springs’ Western Jubilee Recording Co.

Josh Kimbrough is a solo guitarist from North Carolina.


Transglobal Underground are UK’s veteran global collective.

Tunisian singer Ghalia Benali is in dialogue with early music specialist and viol player Romina Lischka.

The Harrycane Orchestra from Bavaria features Turkish singer Tarkan Yesil.
