Yin Yin are another Dutch band, from Maastricht, inspired by South-East Asian music.


Gonora Sounds are blind Zimbabwean singer/guitarist Daniel Gonora and son, plus some of Zimbabwe’s finest.

Africa Negra were featured on the recent São Tomé & Principe compilation with their own collection to come.

Ti’ Kaniki are a Lyon-based outfit playing the the maloya style of La Réunion.

Lucia de Carvalho was born in Angola, growing up in France and Portugal.

The forthcoming “Brasil Novo” compilation focusses on black Brazil and the North-East.

Bonga is a veteran Angolan semba singer with a 50-year career.

Tempura and Edgar Valente remake the Beira Baixa traditions of central Portugal.


Kreix Breizh Akademi are a big Breton modal music ensemble with some very prominent directors.

Tone of Voice Orchestra are a Danish group straddling folk, jazz and more.

Bengali exile Mohammed After Hussain joins forces with DJ-producer Andrea Rusconi.

Sirom are a Slovenian trio playing long improvisatory experiments in “imaginary folk”.


Park Jiha is a solo Korean artist on a variety of local instrumentation.

Harpreet Bansal is a Norwegian violinist with North Indian classical training.

Marjan Vahdat is an Iranian singer in exile, here with Bugge Wesseltoft on production.
