Lucinda Williams is a US songwriter with a background in country-rock.


Afel Bocoum first came to notice playing in the band of the late Ali Farka Touré.

Modou Touré is a Senegalese singer and descendant of the Touré Kunda band.

Kukudoo is David McDermott, Jamaican reggae-gospel singer and wake specialist.

Tiwony is from France and Guadeloupe, while Prince Fatty is Mike Pelanconi, UK producer.


Aquiles Navarro and Tcheser Holmes are a New York Afro-Caribbean trumpet & drums duo.

Krononaut, led by Leo Abrahams and Martin France, play an exploratory improvised style.

Atønito are a São Paulo trio led by Cuca Ferreira of Bixiga 70.

Mariana Degani, also from São Paulo, is a singer, composer and artist.

Eblis Alvarez, from Bogota, leads the Meridian Brothers, enfant terrible of cumbia.

Analog Africa’s new collection promises a trip to the coastal underground of Colombia.                                        


La Banda Morisca, from Cadiz, add the sound of the Maghreb to their Andalucian styles.

Eyuser are West Papuans whose original cassette album gets a re-release.

Gillian Welch plays a rural country style with rare artistry.
