Les Amazones d’Afrique are an empowering, consciousness-raising ensemble of African women with a funky Dr L production.

Pulled By Magnets are led by Seb Rochford of Polar Bear fame.


Babani Kone is a Malian star vocalist, also with a Liam Farrell production.

Mamadou Kelly is guitarist and singer from Niafunké in Mali.

“Léve Léve” is the first ever compilation of music from São Tomé & Principe.

The “Mogadisco” collection is the latest missive from the Somalian vaults.


Roberto Fonseca is the Cuban keyboard master with a new album.

Daymé Arocena, also from Cuba, sings songs in honour of the Santeria deities.

Flautist Jean-Luc Thomas recorded his new album in Brazil with some local musicians.

Simon Bolzinger, from Marseilles, plays Latin piano with reference to several South American countries.


Blu L’azard perform song, dance and poetry in French, Occitan and Italian.

Meybahar are a Greek and Hungarian band featuring santouri and violin.

The Sinafi Trio are Greek women based in Istanbul.

Naissam Jalal revisits Cairo with a full-strength Egyptian ensemble.
