"Ear to the Globe" playlist information - broadcast on 14/12/2015

On this week's programme:

A Latin start with Puerto Rico's Bio Ritmo, followed by a New York boogaloo revival from Spanglish Fly.
Bogota gives us both Curupira and Richard Blair's Sidestepper, both playing an adventurous brand of progressive roots music. Peruvian band Bareto follow a similar trail with the accent on cumbia and psychedelia, and a distinguished guest appearance from Susana Baca.
From South Africa Amampondo's Dizu Plaatjies leads his group in a tribute to Steve Biko.
Mario Combo has a sweet Cameroonian sound with production by Blick Bassy.
Frenchman Ludovic Navarre takes the music of Mali as the inspiration for his latest St Germain outing.

L'Attirail are a Parisian band with an engaging trans-European sound.
Sirventes is a project of Occitan protest songs with personnel from Lo Cor de la Plana, L'Hijaz Car and Le Trio Joubran.
Giuliano Gabriele, from the South of Italy, plays a contemporary Taranta music.
Vilma Timonen plays the Finnish kantele in the cosmopolitan folk-pop context of her quartet.
The Warsaw Village Band are adventurous folkies from Poland with cross-cultural guests.
Per Gudmundson is a rare example of a Swedish bagpiper, with a re-release of his landmark 1983 recording.

Dimitris Mystakidis has arranged post-war rembetiko tunes for guitar and an array of prominent Greek singers.
Vakia Stavrou is a Greek Cypriot singer with influences from fado to jazz.
Ghazalaw bring Welsh folk music to meet Indian ghazal, and the Gurdjieff Ensemble play the music of Armenian composer Komitas.
